Helping Hands of Ellis County, aka Wings to Soar, believes that anyone, regardless of race, income, religion and back ground could need a helping hand UP at some point in life.Our mission is to give the support we can to those who meet our criteria for assistance, showing that NO situation is helpless, allowing them to spread their wings, so they can soar their way to success and never give up.

- Victims in Abusive Relationships who desire a fresh start in a new place away from the violence *(1)
- Rent, Utilities, Food *(2)
- Emergency Shelter *(3)
- Drug & Alcohol Addiction *(4)
- Medical Necessity*(5)
- Educational Needs *(6)
- Clothing, Household Items, Furniture, etc. *(7)
Because Helping Hands no income from sales or any other means, none of this could be possible without Donations from those who believe in our Community and those who live here. We must maintain the belief in the ability to create and achieve anything we dream of becoming.....Sometimes we find ourselves in hard times or situations we can't escape without a little help and support. This is where we must all do our part and help to create a world not only our children thrive and believe in, but future generations will be proud to live in.

(**) Assistance provided on a "as needed" basis. Application for assistance does NOT guarantee assistance. Assistance will be reviewed and granted so long as Helping Hands has the resources/ funding to provide. Families / Individuals can receive assistance ONE time per year. Other conditions and restrictions may apply
(1) In most cases, police report must be provided showing abuse; Restraining order will be required. The ability to support yourself and/or child(ren) must be proven or a plan to do so. Other restrictions will apply.
(2) To avoid eviction / disconnection and proof of ones ability to pay/maintain future payments. Other restrictions may apply
(3) Short term shelter (hotel, motel, etc.) to those in between homes, relocating for work, and other situations will be considered on an as needed basis. Other Conditions may apply
(4) Helping Hands does NOT offer Drug/Alcohol counseling or services for treatment, rather will assist when possible in finding a suitable means of help which meets each individuals needs, when possible. Other Conditions may apply
(5) Proven medical needs not covered by insurance or medicaid. Other Conditions may apply
(6) School supplies and in some case financial assistance to further education. Other Conditions may apply
